According to the latest Market Panorama report, the total number of homes passed with FTTH/B in the EU39 area reached 244 million homes in September 2023, compared to 221 million in September 2022. However, the proportion of homes effectively connected is much lower. The general trend is positive, but we see significant differences between markets.

Over 111 million households had a broadband subscription in Latin America while there are 69 million without any connectivity, making up 38% of total households in the region.

The UAE leads the ranking with 99.3%, while Singapore positions itself second at 97.1%. Hong Kong (95.3%), China (92.9%), and South Korea (91.5%) complete the top 5 positions. In the European region, the report observes a new leader topping the FTTH/B penetration ranking, as Spain is now the country with the highest penetration rate (78.9%), surpassing Iceland (75.2%), which previously has had the primate for four consecutive years in a row.
